The rural village of Ta Van, is located in one of the northern most provinces of Vietnam. This traditional agricultural community has been the site of a WiMAX Pilot that has brought the community Internet access via satellite backhaul, which is then distributed across the entire village wirelessly using WiMAX technology. The villagers are using the Internet to attract tourists, teachers are using it to research and build lesson plans, healthcare clinics are using it to help diagnoses illnesses, and farmers are using it to get the latest weather and market pricing information.
