Spacek didn't protect himself going into the boards. He's gotta brace himself. That hit happens so many times during every game but if you don't protect yourself, that's going to happen. Powe got the penalty for the result of the hit, not the hit itself.
As for the person below ripping Pronger for challenging Gomez, Gomez was going after Timonen and Pronger stepped in. That's why every team has an enforcer. You guys are clueless; go watch basketball if you can't take some hitting/fighting.

Gomez vs Timonen would have not been that much of a mismatch, Spacek needs to brace himself but Powe also made a bad hit, im not a fan of wither team but gomez vs timonen would have been a better match and the penalty by powe was deserved.
