  • I don't think that would count as detonation

  • What do you think it was? It sounded a sharp crack to me, more than it does from a camera. Was it deflagration?

  • How about NaK? It's a eutectic alloy of sodium and potassium. It reacts more vigorously with water than sodium or potassium alone.
