Wooley put quality of music before the fast buck of a hit single. I believe that Lees and Holroyd became obsessed with having a hit single in Britain and that,together with the rather less ambitious BJH efforts from 79 onwards made Wooley leave to pursue his own ambitions. A wonderful,funny man. Greatly missed.

Weird thing about this guy's songs is that none of them are inherently creepy or weird yet they give me this overwhelming sense of dread and anguish every time I listen. Very fascinating music.

no fripp here, but woolly & myself were great admirers of king crimson, and there are parts of this song that were a definate nod in that direction....

No, Robert Fripp doesn't play on this. The guitarist here is Steve Broomhead. Listen to what we have lost......if only Woolly knew how much people would miss him.

The Frippster plays on this? I never knew Wolly and Fripp worked together.

Some lovely Mellotron from Woolly and I love the Robert Fripp like guitar work . I have to say there is anguish in the lyrics but sometimes that is the driving force behind all great music. I wish I could thank Woolly for the songs but it`s not to be. His music lives on in his fans hearts.

Great stuff, and yet another untimely loss from a great band. Having been the mainstay of my formative teens and beyond - I'm reminded more than ever of my own mortality. Love BJH. Loved Wolly's brilliance on the melotron. Loved the grandeur and majesty of the 'Wooly song's on the studio albums. Loved the humour, live, on-stage. Loved the fact you gave up a few minutes of your time to come over and talk to me. RIP Stuart John Wolstenholme - Wooly.

So sad to hear of Woolly's passing ..... he and BJH played a big part in my late-teen-angst years of the early 70s. RIP dear Woolly, and thanks for the beautiful music. Love and best wishes to all his fans

Woolly was a real genius since 1967. He was the soul (most prog rock orientated member of BJH) certainly in early days. And I remember his warm voice, true melo-dramatic songs and a very humoristic man on life stages. A true loss as being a life time BJH-fan...
