My sacred cow has to be Mario Lemieux. Though I can honestly say he's the best pro athlete I've had a chance to watch in my 31 years(and a good person as well), I get legitimately upset when people argue that Gretzky was a more skilled player. I just don't understand how someone could watch them both play in a game and come to the conclusion that Lemieux isn't better.

Of course, if you don't gift a shit about hockey, none of this matters to you at all.
