  • I think alot of people are missing the point, without her crossing the plate they still would have won 3-2. So with that being said her run didnt matter as far as the outcome of the game so why not help her around the bases. Now if her run would have won it I doubt we would be having this convo because I dont think they would have brought across a run that actually matters.

  • the outcome of the game was still in doubt

  • according to samplestein7 they had won anyway, which isn't really the point of the story

  • The last line in the video is "The 3 run home run won the game for her team".... but the main point to the whole story to me is that they did this for an opposing player... and if the statement is correct (the home run winning it for her team) then it is even more of a story, It's about sportsmanship, and doing the right thing. Could you see a major league ball players doing this?

  • There is not enough of that...good job!

  • she came to my school to give a really inspirational speech :)

  • edit

also... if she would have had a pinch runner it would have counted as a single, maybe that is what another commenter meant but.......this shows even more how wonderful these girls are, they didn't want her to lose any of her glory! superb

  • hey, i agree...read my other comments. that was my point to samplestein7

  • i didn't know that. every report said they would have lost without this. did they just want the story to sound better?

i think the reason it made news was due to the act these girls did. regardless, they wanted her first ever home run (three run to boot) to count. and it would not have if she didn't cross the plate. that is the point. i do think they would have done it if it mattered or not.

  • i agree. i hope these girls' coach(es) were proud of them too, off the field.

  • i had to do a report and i did it on this. i think those 2 girls are awesome.
