Good scene, though the unbloodied batleth are a bit too mucch for me... seriously, would it have been that bad to be a tiny bit more realistic? One wonders how the Klingons got to establish an Empire after examples like this... :-) One reason to love ST:Ent, the fight scenes were the best in the franchise...

I agree, it did seem easier than it should have for them to beat them in hand-to-hand combat. At least O'Brian showed that not all of them were taking them out with one punch.
I also found it odd that Odo stopped to talk while a Klingon while still behind him, firing on his officers. I would imagine Odo would answer that call as he was running or fighting. To stop, turn around, and talk while Klingons were still running around, seems odd. Reguardless of the odds with them.

@senatus: Of course, that is based in circular reasoning; i.e., the Klingons shouldn't lose, so when they do, they're not the best the Empire has to offer.
But in spite of Kira's toughness, Sisko's martial skills and Dax's experience, it still strikes me as faintly ridiculous that they could fight off a numerically superior foe on its own but terms -- that is, with bat'leH and HTH combat. I would've found the scene much more convincing if the OPS crew took a real bloody nose.

@Draknfyre: That's also a good point.
I also can't help but to wonder if the boarding party were all top-notch troops. The Klingon fleet was pretty confident it could take DS9; maybe the initial wave of boarders were wounded, older or dishonored men who sought salvation through a glorious death in battle. At that stage in Gowron's leadership, he still had a shred of integrity. I could see him granting lesser warriors a chance at redemption.

Remember Dax's knowledge is hundreds of years old. She was once best friends with a Klingon commander, and knows how to fight Klingon style. Her association with Klingons is why she later fell for Worf. There's even a chance her fighting knowledge and skill exceeded even those of the Klingons who beamed in. She fought with a Bat'leth a hundred years before those warriors were born.

@Jerkwad152: I had totally forgotten that!
Thank you for reminding me :)

Kira's a lot stronger than she looks. In one episode, she threw Quark over the bar and into the wall with not much effort.
-
The Klingons cloaked their misdeeds with good intentions under the pretext of serving a greater good. It's the oldest trick in the book. They played right into the Dominion's hands.

So I guess instead of beaming whoever on the station out the klingons beamed in so honor can be satisfied?
Klingons really have to be more pragmatic sometimes.

@senatus Don't forget, Federation officers get military-level combat and survival training, and most Bajoran military officers are former freedom fighters (or terrorists, depending on who you ask). Klingons are formidable warriors, but it's likely they may sometimes overestimate their own prowess and underestimate that of their enemies.
This scene was #3, this is easily #1. But thats my opinion.

They aren't in order of which is best. The numbers are simply sequential, i.e. I made #1 then #2, #3 and so on...
