@Infidel433 Does than mean Beethoven was an Austrian? Handel became a 'naturalised' British citizen in 1727, ten years after the Water Music premiere, but a piece of paper doesn't change ones nationality just like that. I'm English and I'm not bothered about Handel being really a German - it would be weak of us to think Handel was a true Englishman just to gain a great composer for ourselves.

This is what makes the Brits awesome - thanks for sharing. Just not too much talk about Tippett, Vaughan-Williams, Arnold, or the other composers who could not hold a candle to Handel.
