Colin Powell Saying He Was Misled Before UN Speech on WMDs

Former Secretary of State Colin Powell, appearing on the June 10, 2007, edition of "Meet The Press," reiterated and expanded on his claim that he was misled by unknown forces in the intelligence community who failed to reveal vital information to him before his infamous February 5, 2003, speech before the United Nations proclaiming proof of Iraq's weapons of mass destruction (WMD) programs.

SAME argument given by Hitler's War Criminals. Unacceptable passing blame. It was his duty 2 send his own US Army Investigators 2 check Info. Powell had The Gut Feeling that info was erroneous. His former secretary (Col. Lawerence Wilkerson) said so in RT (milder statement in previous years at MSNBC). Seasoned Military-Politician never lets go concept of Responsibility. Courtland. I disagree. My feeling is Gen Powell is a good guy who was ultimately decieved by certain factions within the US Govt. I think Powell was has having trouble sleeping at night because he has a soul unlike most of these gutless neocons so he got out.

Colin Powell was an ass. Not because he led us to war, but because he lied after the war had started. Saddam sent us a list of weapons that he possessed; of which we haven't found... and I hope no one finds. Powell knew the intel was good when he went to the U.N. He "backpedaled" once he was fired for being incompetent. Powell was the worst kind of leader. A Coward, not a pawn.

a real shame that the Bush Administration tried to have Powell take the fall for the WMD ideas and more of a shame are the comments made by Cheney in years since the end of Bush's term. Powell was Chairman of the Joints Cheif of Staff during the first Iraq War and had enough influence over Bush Sr to prevent a full scale invasion and full secterian war, despite the fact that Cheney advocated back then while Secretary of Defense. This time however Powell was not listened to andlook what happen
