cause they decided to concentrate on the US lancer. remember evo was only available in japan during 1990-1999. So in the US eclipse was top of the line and AWD. once the lancer evo came out their was no need for 2 high performance awd mitsu's. thus the retarded sohc V6 eclipse GT was created.

sneaky little bastards yall are lol. i ran into one of those guys while chillen at a mcdonalds parking lot with some friends. guy pulls up in a "GS" 1st gen eclipse and says its stock. Ofcourse i had a stock integra at the time so i was like eh what the hell if its a GS i have nothing to worry about. First run i had em by a car, right away i knew that wasnt a gs lol. 2nd run he got me by about 4 cars, he popped his hood and sure enought..the beastly 4g63 was in our faces and in a AWD setup

what a fantastic piece of auto history,, the gst's and gsx's are my fave,, i gotta sell my RS and get one,, preferably a 98 or 99 gst ,, gsx will be secondary if i cant make a deal on a gst,, bcz i love the gst the most

I Miss Mine :( :( . but sweet. must have been a gs Originaly cause the sticker on the back hatch only said GS. missin a X lol. nice project tho
