First, love the 'side eye' the Prince gives at 1:14 after the Godfather and Clara share a moment!!!

Second, the peacock ballerina doing the Arabian Dance is my favorite ballet solo of all time! So unique...her eye contact between Clara and her eye contact with the audience/camera at the beginning of her dance and also throughout her performance speaks volumes as does her beautiful dancing!!!

I recall watching this back when it was new, and being stunned by sensuality of the Arabian Dance. Still stunning after all these years. I'd love to know who danced it.

@cjbohemian I grew up with this version myself, taped if off tv and watched it endlessly. I believe the ballerina in the peacock costume is also the same ballerina who danced the part of Clara's mother as well. I always thought it was symbolic and intentional, thus the eye contact. Like that's how Clara saw her mother. This by far my enduring favorite interpretation of the Arabian Dance.

I LOVE the peacock Arabian dancer... she is amazingly beautiful. I used to tuck a towel in the back of my pants and pretend I was her when I was little (no joke). This came out the same year I was born! THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting this. And... Merry Christmas!!!

Definately the BEST Nutcracker EVER!!! :) Saw it on Netflix today after not seeing it for probably at least ten years. It's strange to actually understand what's going on now that I'm grown up rather than just seeing pretty dresses and pretty dancing

I was OBSESSED with this movie when I was younger. Every second of it is burned into my memory. I wish I could find it on DVD! Ive got it on VHS somewhere that was taped from the TV. I really love this adaptation. None of the ones I've seen in my adult years compare! Thank you so much for posting--please post the rest!
