Best Proposal Ever- LIVE TV host proposes to celebrity makeup artist M'chel Bauxal

Dennis Gleason, host of the Portland area TV show On The Fly TV with Dennis Gleason with the assistance of the 2007 & 2008 Mrs. Oregon International Pageant winners - proposed to his girlfriend and celebrity makeup artist & hair stylist - M'chel Bauxal (pronounced Michelle) on LIVE TV on Wednesday, May 20, just days after her 39th birthday. This clip includes a song that M'chel's sister, Allison Lackey, had created for fun for the couple the day before not knowing about the pending proposal and turned into the catalyst for the move.

Other interesting notes:
*Dennis (Dark Wing Productions) was the producer of the pageant starting the year that Debra won (2008).




*The couple Dennis and M'chel met while M'chel was a contestant on a weight loss TV show that Debra was hosting and Dennis/DWP was producing at TVCTV.
* The ring was visible throughout the first part of the video under Debra's leg (far right).
* This was the only known LIVE TV proposal where the host of a show proposed to an official guest on the same show (although many live TV proposals have occured with other criteria - the girlfriend usually is brought on for the proposal only or is working LIVE and the boyfriend comes on for the proposal only.
* This was the 2nd episode of the show where M'chel was a guest. The first one had audio dificulties during it's non-live recording a month prior to the decision to propose.
* M'chel has a long list of celebrity clients including in Oregon and Los Angeles including the Obamas.
* Debra has gone on to participate in many endeavors of the couple including Hosting the 2011 Portland Teen Idol Finale in June of 2011.

Thank you. It took a lot of preparation. As a interesting fact, the song in this clip was later performed at our wedding by a Portland Teen Idol finalist named Madison Shanley - who also sang for us at our first wedding anniversary. A few months later, our company DWP acquired Portland Teen Idol from the City of Portland. Madison has gone on to make top 100 on American Idol and M'chel and I are very happily married.
