The ambitious criminal Rico moves from the country to the big city in the east and joins Sam Vettori's gang with his friend Joe Massara. Sooner he becomes the leader of the gangsters and known as Little Caesar, and gets closer to the great mobster Pete Montana. In a robbery of a night-club, he kills the Crime Commissioner Alvin McClure and his pal Joe witnesses the murder. When Rico orders Joe to leave his mistress Olga Strassoff, she takes a serious decision.

Also - in response to BGoldtone -I agree with you, such a versatile actor! (And let's not forget Double Indemnity). Edward G. played the best of good guys and the best of bad guys - never played middle of the road characters. Love to watch him. By the way - you all have got to see Larceny,Inc. - if you haven't seen it already - hilarious!

With all the praise for Eddie G., let's not forget Glenda Farrell's especially good performance as Olga. Her greatest role was as the fast-talking reporter "Torchy Blaine" in a series of very popular action-adventure B movies in the 1930's. Jerry Siegel, co-creator of "Superman", said that he modeled the character of Lois Lane on Torchy Blaine. WOW, I DIDN'T KNOW THAT!!
