Not Your Enemy {Nick Jonas Love Story} Chapter 21 "Better Off With Him" Des. Box

Nick didn't seem pleased that Alex was bumping in with us. At least that's what his face read. I tried to smile comforting poor Alex who had done nothing wrong but be nice to us. Especially me.

I started to realize that Nick felt one simple feeling, that of course being jealousy. He didn't have any reason to be, or at least that's what I thought. But being in his position, even I would be jealous if Nick did what I did. Guilt burned through my veins. As an attempt to make it better, I sat next to Nick in the car. He still didn't look at me. Instead, he looked at Alex. His eyes gave away the jealousy he must have felt inside. I grabbed his hand and squished it a little just so he would face me. I smiled. He half smirked. He looked so beautiful. No, beautiful is an understatement of how he looked. There is no word to describe how pleasant my view was at this time. I hugged him and simply whispered in his ear, "I love you." Just so he could know how much I really did love him. He smiled although his smile wasn't as warm and caring as it usually is. I was surprised when I saw how cold his smile was. I was taken back at his unusual smile. He usually said he loved me back. He usually hugs me in both arms instead of just one. He usually smiled warmly and caring, but this one was very cold. There were many things he used to do that he didn't do this time.
W got to the park before I could over think things more than I already did. I smiled trying to hide my simple worry about Nick the best way I could. Even though I knew that he knew that I knew he was jealous. -- if that made any sense at all --
Today was so much fun! I laughed with Kevin, pranked people with Joe, talked with Alex, and did a lot of things with him. Riding rides together, playing games. He even gave me a big teddy bear. I loved it! I saw Nick on the corner of my eye walking slowly toward the trash can. My eye caught the small teddy bear he was holding in his hand. I ran and stopped him from throwing it away.

"What are you throwing away, Nick?" I asked.
"It's nothing." he said hiding it behind his back.
"Let me see it." I said and tried to grab it but he stopped me.
"Please?" I begged him.
He shook his head.
"Pretty please?" I said making my puppy face.

His eyes shined when he saw me.

"I got you this, but" he said and eyed my huge teddy bear. "You already have one."

I looked at him and smiled, then snapped the teddy bear and hugged it.

"It very beautiful Nick, thank you!" I said. He smiled.
"It's not as big as that bear." He mumbled.
"I know, but I still love it. You know why?" I said smiling.
"Why?" he asked.
"Cause someone extremely special gave it to me...and...I love him. Even if he thinks his gift is small, I think it's the best gift I've ever gotten. Because he gave it to me." I said.

He smiled and kissed me lightly.

"Thanks Aly. I really truly adore you." he said. I smiled.
"I know, I do too..." I said smiling.

The next day was bizarre. I felt so many emotions as I woke up. I looked around and didn't see Nick. I got up to see where he was. He was sitting outside on the balcony floor with a huge blanket over his shoulder. I smiled a little then walked slowly and opened the balcony door. The cold of the concrete made me shiver and got goose bumps. Nick opened his arm motioning for me to come sit next to him. I crawled next to him and he wrapped his arm around me and placed my head on his chest. I cant describe how I felt. I felt like I was finally home like nothing was strong enough or even good enough for me to leave from this position.

"How are you, Nick?" I asked concerned.
"I'm...fine." he choked out.

I started at him and he looked down at me.

"No, really. I am...just maybe a little jealous." he said looking down. I laughed.
"Why? I already told you I love you not him." I said.
"Its not that Aly. I just think youre better off if you stay with him."
