Hellstomper was formed by four Georgia hicks in 1994. Many members came and went throughout the following years, most unable to keep up with the bloody-knuckle lifestyle and hair-trigger temper of founding father Alan "The Goddam" King. Members of the infamous Confederacy of Scum, the boys left a trail of broken bones and ear drums across the country. It seems that at times they were as well known for their on and off-stage boozing and fighting than they were for the trademark Hellstomper sound that combined Southern rock, gutbucket bluegrass, outlaw country, and loud-ass punk rock. The boys hung up their hats at the 2004 Confederacy of Scum Supershow in Austin, Texas. Some say that they went out at the top of their game out of spite. They could be right. At any rate, they left a slew of kick-ass releases and a long string of satisfied women behind.

  • I discovered this band on the old Unix Punx FTP-server, and now, ten years later I can still say that this is my favourite band ever.

The GD Kings lyrics was the thing that first amazed me.

"What the fuck? This can't be punk rock. This guy can actually write good lyrics", I thought. Well, southern punkrock country anyway.
