@mistadoctapeppa you are correct in stating that homicide has predated firearms, and would continue to exist without them. However, firearms make homicide far more accessible, spontaneous and prevalent. The Government has a role to play in making those factors that could cause us harm less accessible. By your silly reasoning they should provide a free hitman service! 'People are going to kill each other anyway, surely it would be more efficient to let professionals do it'. Wise up!

a simple question, man killed man before the inception of the firearm? true or not? then upon logical deduction how will ridding the populaces' access to said firearms eliminate people killing other people? murder pre-existed firearms did it not? a failure to understand human nature is failure to understand an issue at its very heart, if i am set upon killing another man the means of murder is irrelevant all that is important is that he is dead at the end of the day

@bakunin1989 have you ever been to a US history class? it is very much taught that Jefferson had slaves, yet i respect him no less, in fact he was known to treat his slaves well and released a multitude of them upon his death (i am no advocate of slavery merely stating a factual point). furthermore the soviet union funded dictatorships as well? the us is unique in that respect how? i find it humorous that one is so quickly ready to claim ignorance when that same person participates in ignorance.

I'm from Brasil, your country support military dictatorship in Brazil and whole latin american, where there was repression and aggression against all those who screamed for freedom. You say they are both in favor of freedom, but supported authoritarian dictatorships. Ironic, no? They do not teach it in schools do not teach that your "hero" of Thomas Jefferson had slaves. The ignorance of the U.S. in relation to what happens in the world scares me.
