@paradiseway1 This is a very easy Question to answer, and I am Coptic Orthodox too. Both traditions are correct, as Copts we Cross from Right to Left symbolizing a Gentile Nation, Taking us from Darkness to Light.
The Other Orthodox go from left to right, to Symbolize Christ was in Heaven , then came down to Earth then he came to the Jews (Right) then to the Gentiles (Left).
In short it doesn't matter if you go left to right or vise versa the Power is in the Name of the Trinity. Pray 4 me.
@paradiseway1 In most Orthodox countries we do the cross sign from right to left thus ending over the heart. But this was done only to differentiate from Catholics, it does not really have meanings who were present in the primal church. However, we care about the symbolism of the three fingers, the Holy Third united in three persons and the other two who are sometimes interpreted as the primordial pair bowing to this truth revealed.
@paradiseway1 Im not sure about Coptic Orthodoxy, it is different than Orthodoxy so that would explain your confusion. The Orthodox Church goes right to left.
@5692Nate21 I am coptic orthodox, and we go from left to right ...and it says from darkness (left) to light (right) ... am still confused ... but I'll continue to ask about that ....
Guys, I have noticed that the priest is doing the cross on himself from the right to the left and according to my knowledge this is not the correct way ... replies appreciated ..
@MDIS of course this is the only true church. the holy catholic and apostolic orthodox church. no not roman catholic, but universal catholic. this is the first church. the one before the catholics split away from us :)
@Pharaoh714 I love your conclusion because the most important is to believe in the Name, and Power in the Name of the Trinity. I pray 4 you.

@paradiseway1 Right to left is the correct way to bless yourself. The "Orthodox" way if you will, the Catholic and others go left to right.
