  • Actually many people think that the techniques in Chum Kiu and Biu Jee are more advanced than Sil Lim Tao. This is not true. They are simply other techniques. To this day, I am still refining things I learned on my first day like Tan Sao and Pak Sao. It's like saying in the alphabet that x is more advanced than a. That's the point of Wing Chun. We don't have tons of techniques, but to really master it takes a lifetime.

  • HEY! I love this video! I am a western boxer (golden gloves). I studied ving tsun only a little, because the sticking seemed very useful. Of course, you cannot grab onto the oppenent with hands in Western boxing, but let me tell you, I look at video of my own fights, and I use parts of sticking and turning my oppenent ALL the TIME!!!!

Thanks for posting this video, so we can see the little idea as it was by Yip Man!!!!

  • i love YIP MAN he's a hero!

  • @hulkout666 well i agree with you at some point but siu lim tao are basic moves that you use all times even in chum kiu and biu jee , my sifu explained to me like that siu lim tao is 50 kg weight , chum kiu like 100 kg, biu jee 150 and if youre not able to take up 50 kg you cant take up 100 kg so i wouldnt say its the same level. but i think its sure that a man that learns siu lim tao 5 years would beat a man that would get from siu lim tao to biu jee for 5 years

  • bahahah was that bruce lee passing by? and I don't care how small he may look, respect Ip Man and what he's done. A true master. Btw the video is mad old...it's like dinosaur radioshack XD looks like an alien recording

  • i saw one of his sons. perform.. the one i saw not sure which one.. is not really kung fu material.. regardless the traditional wing chun there is such thing.. when yip man taught leng ting, seung tim etc that generation was traditional.. it died very fast afterwards so it seems to me... I right now am learning from that very lineage.. I am learning from yip mans branch than tsiu wan's side.. tsiu wan's side is too sneaky for me lol

  • leung ting is awesome sifu if he likes you. anyways 20 years ago he teaches dfferently than now.. that says a lot..
