The Cosby Show was and still is one of the greatest sitcoms in television history. It ran for 8 seasons from 1984-1992.

In this episode:
Cliff and Clair await the birth with Anna and Russell and Elvin's parents. Mr. and Mrs. Tibideaux lament the fact that Elvin cannot afford everything he needs for the baby because of his decision to not attend medical school. Meanwhile, Justine becomes annoyed when Theo tries to impress Julia by offering to cook dinner for his parents. As he and Howard prepare the meal, Howard gets Theo to admit his attraction to Julia.

@littlehouse15 I was just about to say that. I heard that it was ad libbed from the hour-long special they did about the making of The Cosby Show. They did unbelievably well considering they just made it up. I thought it sounded so real and genuine. And what a beautiful tribute to Nelson Mandela and his "then-wife", Winnie.

the scene where Cliff comes in to see Sondra- I love watching that. There was no script for that scene. Right before they shot it, Mr. Cosby told her, "Just follow my lead". They did pretty well.
