This BBC documentary was created in 1989 and it reviewed what Army life was really like back then. Today`s headlines with the forces are monopolized by events in Afghanistan with past functionalities, campaigns and events overshadowed. It is no doubt that the British Army has changed significantly over the past 22 years, however some things still remain the same-The Governments M.O.D policies may change but the lies remain the same!

I served with 1 RWF from 1986-2000 and was stationed in Berlin from July 89-June 92. I met soldiers from 1 L I during my tour there and also had the privilege of meeting a few off the guys that had featured in this documentary. Guys, where ever you are today God Bless you and live long and prosperous.

@welly1li Thanks mate, It had to come out eventually on how what life was really like in serving as a British Infantry soldier. They couldn`t have picked a better time to do it, especially with all the bullying reports that surfaced in the press and the media in and around this period of time. Anyway what about yourself, do you remember any of these guys who did the interviews and voice overs in this documentary?

Remember watching this as a youn lad , when i joined up in june 91 to old 2li then new 1li , , carlos saxby and b baker , some good mates there , even old OC fsp coy martin bonner.
