this match shows you how far ahead of the game japan was during the late 80's-early 90's, they were doing real wrestling and we were all obsessed with big oafs that had more business making idiot musclehead magazines than wrestling

Yes. The title was vacated after Ric Flair signed with the WWF, and Chono defeated Rick Rude for the title in the G1 Climax tournament 1992.
