@iOSRider4983 preserve baseband is if you have an iPhone, and you want it to be unlock! (If you got a GSM's iPhone, and you want to use T-mobile, or any GSM service) for example, my iPhone 4 with baseband 04.11.04 on iOS 4.3.2. The stock firmware baseband is 04.11.08, but it's not unlock yet!! So we (included me) need to preserved baseband in other to use it.
