Simply amazing.

Long live Sir Elton John! Only one of his many, many amazing recordings! All of his songs are soul-soothing poetry...
-
This concert was broadcast to Australian and New Zealand. He's very emotional singing this particular song because he had to have surgery on his vocal cords the next day and he had been told he might not sing again. You can hear the difference in his voice here as compared to earlier live performances. He really gave everything to make this the definitive performance of the song.

@weirdguy75 You can tell more in the first half of the show that he's coked up, he seemed to tone it down for most of the second half
-
@weirdguy75 I was not quite well versed in his history at that point. He was most certainly coked up

i can't believe we fight about sexuality, religion, beliefs, one must admit we all need beauty in our lifes... heaven are made of his voice :)

-
I remember watching this on tape as a kid about a million times.
Amazing memories.

He admits that he was heavily coked up during every show he played until late 1991.

I wonder if he was coked up that night I honestly can't tell
