I remember there was a time when Paula would just go along with yes all the time, she would not think about it! She just brushed them off as yes all the time.
That was real bad. Thumbs down to this video, she was really torturing the contestants, not helping them with the critisizm they needed to improve their singing abilities!

They shoulda got him a fake gun, and he would point at her and pull the trigger and a little flag comes out that says "YES OR NO?!?!"

Simon is a rude dickhole for a reason. H does it to stop those who have no chance at a career in singing from wasting their life trying to get it off the ground, while at the same time, providing himself as their figure to hate and blame for their failure.
Paula is more concerned about being nice, she gives these people false hope, so it's even more crushing to them when they are denied audition, thinking they have a chance
