I researched this camera heavily before buying it from Amazon new for $230. I was very much wanting a point-and-shoot camera that shoots video in HD. I got the camera on Friday (8-7-09) and spent most of the day Saturday thrift store shopping. Got plenty of test video throughout the day and I really love this camera

  • Did you edit the video to make the quality better? also check my powershot test and comment the video if it has good quality because to me its kinda good. also if i may ask.. what happen to your arm?

  • @1GiveSubs1

That's a birth mark on my arm. As for the video, I did not edit it. I uploaded the original clip straight to Youtube. I looked at your test videos and they appear okay for what you were doing. My test video was shot in static light conditions and with the camera sitting solid on a level surface. If you move the camera around, it does NOT refocus and it does not refocus if you zoom. But it's still a great point and shoot for the money.

  • this camera produces .mov files which youtube cant upload right? so did yu have to do some converting? &if so to what type of file?

  • Yes, it does produce .mov files and you CAN upload those directly to Youtube. That's what I did with this one. I use a Mac and so .mov files are "native" and run smoothly through Quicktime. If you use a PC, you have to do some "codec" stuff, which I know nothing about, but I have heard isn't that difficult. Hope that helps.

  • Hi I just got this camera and I can't upload to youtube. It's taking forever. Please help!

  • It depends on several factors.....your connection speed and the file size being the most important. If you're trying to upload anything more than 100mb or even 50mb, it's likely going to take 30 minutes to an hour to upload to Youtube. If you're not worried about uploading the movie in the original high def size, then you might want to downsize the file to something under 150mb. This specific 23-second movie is 65mb in size. That's huge for such a short clip.
