An aurora australis as seen from the International Space Station. It was caused by a rather average coronal mass ejection from the Sun, although the aurora was pretty intense (you can see that it reflects off the space station).
The video was taken by astronauts aboard the International Space Station from 17:22:27 to 17:45:12 GMT on Sept. 17. This is a time lapse video covering that period.
