In some ways yes, but there are new crowds, new life, new day! We do not know the exact feelings of these majestic animals, but trust me when i tell you that you can not MAKE a 12,000 pound animal DO anything! So give it up to their amazing characters or their will, but either way, their life will not be the same as yesterday :D

I think if they had a CHOICE they would prefer hunting, exploring the sea and riding the waves over doing the same show over and over and over... No you cant PHYSICALLY force them. But when an animal is deprived of mental and physical exercise it will cling to just about any straw it can reach. And so far nobody has given me a satisfying answer to why feeding is needed for training and shows if the orcas enjoy them. You would think that for a captive animal, doing something fun is reward enough.

Although I agree with you on some things, we must look at Keiko, who RETURNED to people again and again. Now if this action was founded on his love for humans or the food he knew was there cannot be determined, but it does hold up to the fact that they wish to be with us, even if only for the food that we provide them.

Yea a horrible life.Rather than a natural life their life is artificial.Their natural enviroment is not a tank.The are not physically disabled they are able to hunt their own food.Seaworld treats them just like circus.Do a trick and i will feed you some dead fish.What a life.=/

Just because there are new crowds a captive orcas' life does not change at all. Every day isn't a new life, its just another day. I'm not trying to be all preachy or trying to change your mind(because I know "Shamu-lovers" will not change their mind just like that, even if it does mean hiding the truth) but I would just like to tell you that an orcas life would be MUCH more diverse in the wild.

You think Keiko returned to humans because he loved them? No, no no. You could not be any more wrong. Humans couldn't let him go. They had to ride him, feed him, and pet him despite the laws not to. He got used to people again and he got deprived of a regular wild orca's life.

That is true, yes... then again, other dolphins have been released, joined wild pods and never saught human contact again. I guess theres no such thing as THE captive dolphin or Orca, and its impossible to tell in advance how a certain animal will adjust to the wild. But there have been few attempts so far, some successful, others sadly not. And we learned a lot since and from them.

But even if some cannot be released, in my opinion they still deserve better than concrete tanks and shows...
