this is the vince mendoza arrangement, so maybe its different than the original brecker brothers recording in that respect. the trumpet and sax parts are arranged this way on the recording of this arrangement i have. which recording are you comparing it too?

Sounds a bit rushed. Could clean up ensemble hits. Good sound quality. I know the big band version doesn't have as much funk as the original, but some more funk from teh rythm section would be great. Doesn't sound like you can keep up with the soloist in feel lol. Overall a pretty good performance.

we did take it a little faster than usual that time. it feels better about 20 bpm slower
