This is the sixth and seventh chapter of a feature length "experimental" documentary on people, places, and the reasons why people get stuck where they do. It was filmed over the course of three months on a cross-country road trip that took me from the Florida Keys to San Francisco.
These chapters are called "The California Line" and "Wineland" and both take place in Northern California. "Wineland" documents my meeting with Kate, who had decided not to move to Portland and had started me on this trip to begin with. In many ways, meeting up with her is a point of resolution for the film's plot, but it is entirely unsatisfying.
It takes place in Healdsburg, California...the land of fruit and nuts.
It was filmed primarily with a Canon GL2, processed with Magic Bullet, and edited in Sony Vegas.
Great videos man.. funny I stayed at the same hotel you did in Key Largo (w/ large screened porch) last year when I performed at a wedding. I visited Healdsburg a lot when I lived in Alameda, CA. Now I'm in Melbourne FL and miss CA a lot where I grew up. Funny where life takes us sometimes. Great work - Don
