  • @tomitstube

"maybe "moderate" wasn't the right word. it's "social conservatives"

They are more like "for sale to the highest bidder" who don't seem to care about party platforms as long as they can keep their jobs.

  • Why would you not want your politicians to change their position with the availability of new information. Its like making financial investments, while not studying the stock market.

  • well-put tomitstube

  • In fact I'm looking at the Bureau of Labor & Statistics data right now & North Carolina & South Carolina's unemployment rates are as high as those of California & Oregon.

For every blue state with a high unemployment rate, there is a red state with a high unemployment rate. So as I said before, it looks like most states are having trouble. Your liberal-state versus conservative-state correlation with unemployment & Federal assistance is crap.

  • Not Louisiana & not Mississippi. Again I say, both red states. And both historically red states since the blue-red designations. I have yet to see any research published that blue states are suffering more so from the recession. In fact, I have seen data that says red states get more money per capita from the Federal Government than blue states, on average.

  • wrong -- there's one thing -- he'll always be pro-Israel

  • lieberman isnt a conservative. He was a democrat. He just became an independent because he lost the democratic primary in connecticut.

Lieberman is one of those guys that will stab anyone in the back if it helps him. Whether its his party, or his constituents. I don't think the guy truly has any sort of personal political stance on anything, he is only motivated by personal gain.

  • The dems are going to let the Bush tax cuts expire and have been raising them in every venue possible. LA was controlled by the dem party and Jindal will tunr it around. It's not crap at all--consider what the state legislators have been doing in CA, NY, and MA--the Governorships in VA and NJ have been changed out largely because of the goofy taxes. People are having a hard time paying it all.

Which states are seeing more real jobs come in?
