Cool dude greetz from Belgium :)

Eric Clapton said in his biography that at the time of Stevie's tragic death, he was the best electric blues guitar player on the planet. That said, how can anyone expect 13-year olds to come close to that level? I'm thankful to see young people appreciating Stevie's music and carrying it on.

You respected the song and the way Stevie played it. I think he'd be smiling and telling you, good job! As for playing behind your back, you played the song better behind your back than most guys play it with the guitar slung in front. At least the guitar was clean; the notes were understandable and not buried in high gain distortion. You're on the right track. :)

Cool Dude :]

you got big balls
-
Keep up the good work kid. I see a bright future in the electric blues for you.

@douker yes you do know, it's just WAY too forced. SRV did it cause he was feelin it so bad he had to break loose somehow (and also because he could :P). But cause this was so low energy, it just doesn't fit to throw one of them in there :P. Then again they were kids in this vid and just didn't get it, I know I didn't, so let's just give em a brake :P actually I think he's really good for his age here.

Chef says you children done good - I agree with chef!

ive gotta tell you guys. For thirteen yall rock. Ive seen bands with grown men and were horrible. What are all thesepeopel talking about no soul. They are 13. IF SRV had soul when he was thirteen he would have been famous at 13. that something u get from your experinces in life. the Blues is great and these guys are good. Im in a blues band and we cover this song. Rock on guys. SRV forever.
-
Don't listen to all the people who say you dont have soul. When SRV played as a kid, until he was about 19, he just stared at his feet the whole gig.
-
thats awesome. dont listen to the people who say that you have no soul because until SRV was like in his 20's he just stood on stage and stared at his feet. your doin awesome
-
Sounds like the drums and bass ditched you? I agree. To make a song like Texas Flood work, you need to feel it. No soul. But nice attempt, props for that.
-
Hey man, I've been playing guitar longer than you've been alive and I couldn't do that good on this song, don't worry about how people tell you to do it, just keep up the good work and keep moving forward!
-
hm... the behind the back thing... i just dont know...
-
Most adults would not be brave enough to try that song, much less kids. Great job
-
Very nice! Your only 13 and rocking like that. But it's clear to see that you don't FEEL the music.. FEEL the soul of blues.. Keep playing!

Work on the timing (constructive criticism)

Your version is quite different. I think its good that you're trying to be creative(and you're v good for 13) but why change something that's already a pretty perfect version of what it is? Not easy to improve on SRV, who knows maybe someday you will be able to, but i reckon right now you'd be better off being faithful to the original. Don't get me wrong though it was a good effort.

its actually not that bad, of course i hear couple of wrong notes, and not enough feel into the playing, but of course no one can play like stevie i guess. lol but all in all i will give u 4 stars!
Hello all. This comment is written by the guitarist himself, not his father. Feel free to comment anyway you like, i will happily accept any praise or criticism as long as all comments are clean and all criticism is constructive. Also, the more recent videos are much better. So if you like what you see, or you hate it and are looking for something better, check out more recent videos. Take it easy.
