"I'm standing here, all by myself
Livin' dreams, that could never come true
When I look, yeah, out the window
I see her, but I'm thinkin' of you
The man on TV looks by me
The ladies do the same
I look to the girl on the billboard
Imagine her calling my name
Goodnight L.A.
Where are you tonight
Goodnight L.A.
On fire, the streets, the neon light
Goodnight L.A.
I'm a dreamer, some people say
No use in trying, Nothin' happens anyway
You're an angel, only a memory
On faded magazine pages, no place, no place I'd rather be
And the man on TV still looks by me
The ladies do the same
I look to the girl on the billboard
Imagine her calling my name
Goodnight L.A.
Where are you tonight
Goodnight L.A.
On fire, the streets, the neon light
Goodnight L.A."

Wow, takes me back to a posting to Germany - watching the German music programmes with Milli Vanilli and Michael Schenker group. I used to play this track on the car cassette deck along with tracks by artists like Magnum, Survivor and Heart. What's happened to all the big hair and smoke machines of rock? Never mind, there's still Bon Jovi : )
