Amazing Video. Who knows what Henry thought in the years after he executed Anne. Surely his actions in the subsequent years proved he had desended into some form of madness. If you loved someone as much he had obviously loved Anne there must have been moments of regret or longing. Its sad she had to die, if she hadn't perhaps the public opinion of her wouldn,t have changed and it would have been harder for Elizabeth to assend the throne.

Actually, as far as I know, Henry & Anne were a couple for 10 years, because, before marriage, they spent together 7 years... I had to present Anne Boleyn's life for my English diploma, and this is why I know...

@01Antigone yes he was really like that. Once he saw how smart Elizabeth was, and how she carried herself graciously, he knew she was his. Perhaps he had some hidden pride who knows.

btw, excellent video - i really liked the concept and i was very surprised that henry didn't mourn anne in the show in some way, like regret his decision or have mixed feelings like he did with more's death. i think the show should have showed SOME conflict. he was extremely cruel to anne and so was charles and cromwell, who made up all those charges. the only thing i saw anything from henry was in S3 after jane's death when henry is secluded, anne is mentioned, how henry caused her death.

As far as the show goes, I found it very strange that Henry seemed to have a mental illness: possibly bipolar, as his mood swings were very drastic. For example, after he had Anne murdered, he kept saying outrageous things including Elizabeth was Henry Norris' child & everyone knew it, then in mid S3 he said she was his daughter. His mind kept changing constantly about how he treated Anne, but also with everyone else as well. Bad writing or was Henry really like this in real life I wonder...

Amazing video. 5 stars!
In actuality Henry didn't morn or regret Anne's death until he was on his death bed where history has it that he is to have said he regretting killing her. History shows that Jane Parker (George Boleyn's wife) created the accusation of incest. She confess it to be a lie on the scaffold before she herself was executed. After her confession is when Henry doubts his decision and regrets Anne's death.

We have no way of knowing Henry's inner thoughts and feelings. Given all the things he did while he was king, they were probably quite tumultuous and prone to change often.

Absolutely amazing. Loreena's voice added such a haunting tone, and I loved your melding of the clips! Great quotation at the end too. ;D

Wow! Love the final quote!
I sometimes ask myself if Henry ever regretted that he had beheaded Anne...

Well, Henry was never heard to say Anne's name for the rest of his life...I'm sure he did in some ways. But Henry, at least in my mind, was very self-centered and considered Jane the great love and loss of his life, and Edward his triumph. If he truly believed Anne was guilty, maybe he considered it a fitting death for her. But you have to wonder what he thought every time he looked at Elizabeth.
