Just as we have promised, here is an update on packing the BD-5J. Bob Bishop is really giving away a remarkable jet and we have tried to put his last memories into one short movie. May this movie last with him, Nathan and the team, who spent such beautiful 3 days with us. There is nothing more to say.

  • This company seems to be selling them again bd-micro.com they don't list any prices not sure they even offer a jet version although they have videos of one. They do seem to have a engine version and a turboprop version. The pictures of the cockpit show a LCD glass display much like all the modern aircraft. Most of the crashes were at airshows which isn't surprising.

  • Hey there, the song is sung by Sophie Barker.

  • Who is the artist singing? There are several versions of this song.

  • Amazing...one lucky guy to have owned and flown one....I was lucky to get my photo taken in one of the propped ones at the factory just Nth of Kansas City, back on a trip to the USA when I was 21!!!!!....Thanks...Laurie

  • no one is going to comment on the terrible music? It's gotta be John Denver or pick a different song...great plane though!

  • the Irony..once intended as a cheap diy kit is now an expensive ott $ collectors item!....if only these prices were paid for the real kits instead of silly cheap price money then the company would still be alive today and kicking and churning these lovely little aircraft out at a sensible price....

  • About $100,000 and one comes up evey 3-8 years so keep checking the internet ;) Just a suggestion, it might be easier getting a BD5 without an engine and having someone fix it up to handle a jet turbine engine then find/buy a couger mini jet engine. I forget the actual name of the engine...TRS-18-048 I think.

  • Bob, just a beautiful aircraft! saw you and the young lady do demo at Eltoro mcas years ago, so good

i did a piece of art in red whit and blue of the Heart manuver it will always stick in my mind! thanks

  • @Sjsimmons1019 I'm sorry to say that building one properly is not cheap but BD-Micro Technologies is your source if you want one.

  • @flsmicrojet How much are they and where do I get one?
