The singer with the high voice on this is Arnell Carmichael. Jerry Knight sings lead at least at the beginning of this song. I was in the 11th grade in 1977-78..

@SuperJingo1 Hi superjingo1, thanks for your response, society has changed but we 1970s/1980s Disco and R&B people, well we do not change do we, we are older and we are basically still happy people because we were there with "Raydio" and "Chic", D-Train,"Change" "Yarborough and peoples", Stefanie Mills and the other musical greats of that time, but now we just shake our heads in disbelief at todays music scene thats all isnt it -lol -ha ha ha !

Giving credit where its due
Ray Parker Jr. is a talented artist. Although, Jerry Knight and Arnell Carmichael shared the 1st 2 verses. Jerry Knight died of cancer. However, Arnell Carmichael, current resident of Detroit, MI, is now the CEO of Timecapsule Production Service.
Thank You and Great Job to Jerry Knight, Arnell Carmichael and all the other unrecognized artist in the world.
