Daft Ada Funny Car (Model Rocket car)

Lightstorm 2 (see other YouTube) retired undeafeated Model Rocket Car champs (2002) with a record that still stands. The next year we raced in Funny cars instead with this car. It came 5th but the other four (above us) were really rocket cars just painted 'funny' - at least Daft Ada was a proper 'Funny'. We got recognised for being sporting though and won the Sportsmanship award for Techno Games 2003 as you can see in this clip - Laurie Calvert. @Knobydobs Hey, Joshua - Hi, you are the same age as my son Laurie Jnr, who was also in my team that year. I remember we were doing well until the very end when your car pipped us - well done! We had a good year though as we won the Sportsmanship award, plus the year before we did very well. I loved doing Techno Games, even more than doing Robot Wars. The 'robots' were more inventive. Thanks for dropping us a line.

yeah this show was brill.

I can remember it was on after robot wars finished it's series, we all sat down to watch it, even my sisters who hated robot wars.

o'well they didn't know what they were missing.

@Calvertfilm My dad did it with his friend the year before but did not do very well at all (I dont think it even reached the end) I think we managed to hold the record after that :) (technogames was also the first time i played an xbox) :)

@dalekandjedi Thing was we roboteers never met him (well I didn't) so he would commentat and say what he wanted, and we'd never get to get our own back. At least it was all in jest. Better be!!!
