It is so annoying when an interviewer does all the talking - especially with a modest person like many artists are. I just want to put some tape over his mouth.

The moderator is talking far too much. He should only let Richie talk.

This man has such a great voice

Ritchie Havens has a heart as big as a mountain and is one of a kind.
More than a folk legend, he's a national treasure and a great spokesman for the peace that our Good Lord would have us living in.
God bless you Ritchie!

go ahead play on those pussy 9's
-
looks more like Dwight D. Eisenhower, who by the way warned of the Military Industrial Complex
-
Yeah gotta add my 2 cents worth:
Geez Louise, Harold- Let Richie Freakin' Talk!
-
In my opinion, the best version of Jackson Browne's song "Lives in the Balance". Havens has a way of pounding the feeling out so beautifully.

I do not understand a lot (french). But I think the gentleman of the media is not very pleasant. Sometimes people of communication (TV, newspapers, politicians, civil servants) are afraid of artists because they speak another language, and often, a language still somewhat "subversive". For today, a bit of "humanity" is already subversive, in an ultra-mechanical world.
I think. Different "degrees" of humanity ; but the Order ( "social system" / Status quo) shall prevail... (?)
I love ritchie havens. He has such a beautiful soul.

Richie does look great. If you took the beard away he hasn't got a wrinkle on his face. So glad he's still around to tell us the real story from decades ago. He's a living legend. I was lucky to've seen him in 1972 at the Crystal Palace Bowl (London UK). I'll never forget that day.
