Atheist Shorts 6: Yahweh, Lucifer, and Free Will

Just another off-the-wall thought that popped in my head driving to work today. Sorry for the brevity, but my family has not been letting me have time to film lately. Life's just been really hectic since returning to the workforce. I'm hoping to get my second DreamJournal video up this weekend and maybe another small random one :)

IMO, if there is a great central universal entity (that you could call "God") who is truly omnipresent, all-knowing and the creator of everything else, it's probably different from anything that we humans can comprehend, or any of our books can describe. We just have countless different views of what "God" is and whether we can trust him/her/it, hence all these religions.

Of course, I'm an agnostic (and a moralist). Some people will think differently.

@MegaFafnir I completely agree. If there was truly a "perfect and limitless" god, our limited human minds would not be able to comprehend it, let alone try to define it. Not only is trying to define something like that futile and moronic, but also extremely egotistical to claim that one person or group is capable of that comprehension while the rest of the world are not. Real Christ-like right?

Actually,according to Jewish scripture,Satan(Lucifer is a catholic made up name,means,bringer of the light)Satan refused to bow down to man,as he would only bow down to Jehovah,believing only Jehovah deserved worship.Actually Satan was the highest ranking angel of heaven,and supposedly helped in creation. According to Jewish myth.

But if God was all powerful, then why did he need Satan's help with creation? Jewish myth fails too :)

No one gave Lucifer freedom. Angels followed with no question god's will. When ruler put them in service of man -- for Lucifer this is insult. And why would stood against "god" if he is all-powerful -- form of suicide?! If Lucifer is excuse for bad things, then god is not all-knowing and merciful to torture all just to check people.

Here's the thing about the Satan story. If Satan and 1/3 of the "heavenly host" turned against god - even though, according to the story, they *knew* he was god - why wouldn't god make his presence absolutely and unequivocally clear to *us*? Apparently we would still be free to follow or not - just like Satan. There is no reason to "test our faith". That's just absurd!
