Underdog (A Jonas Brothers Love Story) - Chapter 24 (Part 2)

*Sam's P.O.V.*
He looked into my eyes. "But if you still don't want me to kiss you than I understand."
Before he said another word I grabbed his face and kissed him. Our lips meshed together and he started kissing me back. He slowly wrapped his arms around my waist and I still kept my hands on his face. The kiss wasn't sloppy or pushy, it was just perfect. I pulled away and looked at Joe as I bit my bottom lip.
He smiled still holding onto my waist. "Wow. That was -"
I interrupted. "Our first kiss... and our last kiss."
"Whoa. What are you talking about?"
I put my hand on his chest to keep space between us. "I think it's best, for the both of us, if we stay just friends."
"And you kissing me fits into that how?"
"I just thought it was about time."
"You're right. But the thing is, I never got to kiss you."
Before I could object he pressed his lips against mine. I wrapped my arms around his neck but this time the kiss more passionate and lasted a little while longer. I could feel Joe smile but I knew I had to pull away. I put my finger up to Joe's lips. "Remember, just friends. Ok?"
"Yeah. Of course." Joe said smiling.

Suddenly, all of the lights came back on and Joe helped me off the floor. Kevin, Kristi, Sasha, and Nick came running up the stairs.
"Are you guys ok?" Asked Kevin.
"Yeah, we're fine. Are you guys alright? We heard screaming." Joe said.
Kevin looked over at Sasha and Kristi who had guilty expressions on their faces.
"We were just really surprised." Kristi said.
"Do you guys mind if I drive you home?" Kevin asked gesturing to me, Sasha, and Kristi.
"Sure. That would be great." I said.

*Joe's P.O.V.*
As we walked out the door Kevin stopped me.
"Um... Joe. Is that blood on your cheek?" He said.
I didn't answer but instead just smiled and wiped off the blood left from Sam's hand when we kissed.

I came into the car with the girls and everyone had been dropped off except for Sam. I had my arm around her and she had fallen asleep with her head on my shoulder. She looked so peaceful and beautiful and it was killing me that I knew we could only be friends. I pulled a pen out of my pocket and gently wrote JUST FRIENDS on her wrist. I slowly pulled back her sleeve and wrote something else on her arm. (A.N: You won't be able to find out what he wrote 'til later ;) ) Kevin stopped the car in front of Sam's house. I didn't want to wake her so I opened the car door and carried her in my arms. She tucked her head into my chest and wrapped her arms around my neck. I stood at her front door as I watched her eyes slowly open from the rain trickling on to her face. She stood up and looked me in the eyes.
"Thanks Joe..." She said. "... for everything."
"No problem." I said. I gave her one last hug not wanting to ever let her go.
She waved goodbye to Kevin in the car and then walked inside. I walked towards the car but couldn't help but think. Tonight was the most amazing kiss I had ever had and it was definitely worth the wait. I came close to tears thinking about how I would never get to hold her or kiss her ever again.

When I went to the Jonas Brothers concert over the weekend at the Staples center, my friend and I did the Honor Roll when they did this song!!! It was so fun!! But awesome chapter!
