sweet shot

hello, i have been playing for about 20 years now and have made myself know locally for my trick shots. i use a masse a lot ( 2 or 3 times in 20 racks or so) when getting out of traps and have gotten very proficient at the light masse. i have won bets on being able to make the shot he just did with out touching the felt with the tip. the trick is to use more side spin and don't send the Q ball out so far into the table, does it have to be a yo-yo shot to be considered a full masse?

To execute a full masse shot, elevate your cue to about 90 degrees, and hit the cue ball on the right if you want it to masse to the right, and of cause, left if you want it to go left.
Your tip of the cue must end up hitting the table, and do chalk up your cue, as the chalk will fade very fast whenever you masse.
Hope this helps :)

WOW! An actual expert on expert village, normally they just pull someone off the street and give them a book of a beginners guide to read on the subject in question before pushing them into the camera shot 2 minutes later. Until this video was shown i was never sure if expert village was meant to be some comedy wind up. maybe expert village just got lucky and the random member of public by accident just happened to be an expert on trick shots. well law of averages and all that.

A full masse is only feesible in a real game when there is no bank, kick, or legal jump available to contact the object ball. However, a slight masse is a VERY useful shot, and pro's use them more than you'd think. I use a slight masse around one out of every 10-20 games or so.

does your pool cue hit the table?

@daveyboy19841 I think he's saying that's it's a stupid shot to use in competiton because it's such a low percentage shot. I agree it's fun to do but would you risk it when playing for the title or lots of money?
