The steepest street is indeed in New Zealand but these guys claims that this is the steepest and I don't think so but I have been to Oxford Street in White Rock BC and have challenged myself cycling up. It's VERY VERY STEEP. Go to a search engine and type steepest street White Rock...

its not the steepest...
canton ave. in pittsburgh is the steepest.
they think this is the steepest due to a typing error when they were recording all of the streets.
this street has a 35% grade, canton ave. has a 37% grade
