Arc13's Top VGM #23 - Final Fantasy XIII - Flash (Battle Theme)/Blinded By Light

Again(I find myself saying this too frequently), but this is one I have yet to play. However this one is more understandable with the price being higher what with it being new this year and all.
I hear plenty of negative news from typical RPG players about this one, but honestly? I feel as though half the complaints are ridiculous. Linear path? Didn't X have a pretty linear set-up as well? And yet that one is constantly raved as one of the best.
Many of the music goers also down the soundtrack simply because it isn't Uematsu. I don't down a soundtrack cause it's not Yasunori Mitsuda! The way I see it, if the album is good, it's good regardless of who did it. Of course on that note I must admit, I do prefer Uematsu's usual stuff to this album, BUT it does have a few absolute brilliant tracks on it, the likes of which are up to the legendary expectations FF has, this being one of them!
By the way, to many, including myself, it may seem dull at first, but give it a chance! Once :12 kicks in it starts to sound good, but keep waiting...:47 is where the song goes from good to absolute masterpiece.

Finally got it & can actually say, it's not one of the best like its fans claim it to be, but it's still one of my favorites actually. I've played every game in the series & this takes its mark as my 5th favorite in the series. VI, VII, IX, X are still tough to top of course. But hey, it's one of the better games you can get for the PS3 if you are an RPG fan or someone looking to get started on the genre. However if you are someone who dislikes the genre their is no way you will enjoy this game.
