theres plenty of in movie ads, like why does james bond use a sony ericson and not any other cellphones? why does willsmith drive an audi in iRobot and not anouther brand? etc etc.

exactly my point, movies make a lot of money just from those product placements. Even in I Am Legend they showed McDonalds.

Knowing what a great compromise this is for both the consumer and the industry, I wouldn't think twice before downloading the version with the advertising bug. And I'm sure there are many more people who would do the same if they were informed about it.
