chords are nothing but a group of notes put together and a scale is just the correct order of notes to correlate with the starting note and the scale type. you dont need to know your basic chords and scales to play. chords and scales existed before the guitar. people didnt figure them out, they just played it on the guitar once the guitar was designed the right way. but knowing your basic chords and scales doesnt mean shit. play and be creative. and learning music lets you figure out patterns

there's a flaw in your argument. if everyone needed prior knowledge of how scales and chords work, then that means someone had to have written them down and taught them beforehand. SOMEONE figured them out on their own. they put them together and made them cohesive and melodic. if someone could do it by themself, then someone else can as well. different people create different styles depending on where they're from and the sounds they recreate with their instruments, not what they've learned.
