@psychochun It's quite improved from whenever you went there. I think Hastings' current situation isn't pleasant of course, but we have to work together as a community to establish that street as a better place. I think citizens should not brand people as 'stupid' just becuase they walk across traffic anytime they want. We need to educate our fellow citizens, not brand them as 'stupid.' its not fair to them. From their perspective, I would be deeply hurt by such an ignorant comment.

Chinatown is now more quiet than before. I love going there for buying traditional Chinese food and fruits. On Hastings Street between the block of Main & Carrol is the worst area for drug addicts and homeless. Whole block is always filled with these kinds of people, just wandering around, socializing, and doing drug. Unbelievably poor area. Also, these stupid people always just walk across traffic anytime they want without paying attention on the cars at all. Very stupid.

I used to work at the government liquor store at Keefer and Main for years. Used to have some great lunches across the street at the now gone Villa Restaurant and of course Hons. Despite the area being really poor it was still a good experience. I remember this angry Chinese guy coming in yelling that no white should work here, Chinese people only. Him aside most people were pretty good.

i passed through the china town and all i could see was depression, homelessness, and cheap looking hookers. i Would have walked around and explored, but my parents and sisters were wiggin out. overall it had a apocalyptic look and i am sort of glad i got to see it before they change it when the Olympics come to town
