you could do the same damage with a 13m eze from freakdogs. but yeah you need a large board.

Hey dr lightwind, i just got a 17m Speed , standard fabric.
with a large board will i be able to go upwind in 8 knots? im 175 lbs
submelon8 1 year ago
@submelon8, Yes in those days of that size Speed, many people could ride in 8 knots with that weight.
Myself I never had that size to try, but I know a flyer in Japan who is heavier than you and he is holding ground
in 8 - 10 knots. In lower humidity air and large enough board shoudn't be a problem a all.
Good luck with it.

im about to buy a kite for low wind, i cant decide between 15 or 19 due to agility. anyone care to comment please?
(SPEED3 Deluxe.)
wind speeds are like averaging 6 maybe 7 in my area. I'm 75 kg.
and is a spleene 139 or flyradical 139 enough, or must i get a door? i'd obviously want to learn tricking thus am not too enthusiastic on a door somehow.
o btw im a complete noob, appreciate the advise..

If the wind is so light and your weight is 75 kg,
than there is a call for the 19m Speed3 DLX light version.

Dr.Lightwind, what kind and size board are you riding in this video?
Flysurfer is great, I have a Speed 2 19

The board is a Semi Directional DC custom from Dereck. 4 fins at the tail and 2 small at font. 180 X 46 X 6 Lbs (2.7 KG)
A little bit an over-kill, but its made only to cover the 5 to 10 knots range.
