Hand washing, Indonesia - IYS International Year of Sanitation - Eumpang Breuh Film

Water Supply & Sanitation - Special Edition.

Joni Kapluk, Yusniar, Haji Umar and friends from the Eumpang Breuh comedian team, asked the Aceh community to increase hygiene behavior in the Eumpang Breuh Special edition film, themed on Water, sanitation and hygiene. The most famous comedian group in Aceh has launched the Film at Sudirman Stadiom, Korem 11 Liliwangsa, Lhokseumawe, on 15 November 2008.

Eumpang Breuh Film: Created by members of the Water & Environmental Sanitation Working Groups (AMPL Aceh Province, 2008), with full support from 14 NGOs & the Red Cross (Indonesian Red Cross, UNICEF, Spanish Red Cross, American Red Cross, Australian Red Cross, Canadian Red Cross, Irish Red Cross, IOM, Americares, Save the Children, Govt. of Aceh Province, IFRC etc.).

The Film was launched in more than 5 districts in Aceh Province during the Global Hand Washing Day.

More than 40.000 people were reached by the campaign. 6,000 copies of the film was produced, funded by more than 12 NGOs & Red Cross, and distributed during the campaign and health offices in Aceh Province.
