Just as the Milwaukee Brewers have the Racing Sausages, a local pest management company has a cockroach as their mascot to cheer on the racers at Batzner Pest Management's Annual Madagascar Hissing Cockroach Races.
But this cheering cockroach needs a creative name. To help Batzner name their mascot, children between the ages 3-12 can enter Batzner's Naming and Coloring Contest. Entry forms and official rules can be found at www.batzner.com/color
The newly named mascot will be part of Batzner Pest Management's celebration of National Customer Service Week in October. The mascot will energize the crowd at the Madagascar Hissing Cockroach Races held at Batzner's New Berlin corporate headquarters on October 5, at 1:30p.m. This is when roaches selected by company employees will zip along on the custom-built, 8-foot racetrack until one of the racers cross the finish line. Those employees backing the winning insect are able to designate a charity of their choice for a donation of company funds.
