Overview of Plan's work in Haiti since the devastating earthquake on January 12th 2010. Plan has provided tents, food and portable toilets to around 50,000 people living in camps. Therapeutic games sessions for children affected by the trauma were implemented and young people volunteered to help Plan with its work.
Plan is constructing child-friendly spaces and latrines along with putting into action a 'cash for work' scheme which is providing hundreds of people with paid work and helping rebuild the country. Work on temporary school construction will begin soon which will employ two thousand more.
Plan believes that children should have a say in the reconstruction of their country, so have consulted with more than 1,000 children for a study which we hope will be used as a blueprint for the country's recovery and reconstruction
