how did this shit get rated up here? Should we get over Vietnam cause we lost too? Should we get over 9/11 cause we 'lost' that day? This is part of American history, why should we get over our history? And if we should 'get over it' tell that to everyone, including Native Americans' genocide and losing land, Blacks being enslaved, women not being able to vote, the Japanese in the interment camps
You can't tell someone to just get over history, it's part of our nation.

@jasonwill2 Looking back that was a very Ill informed statement.

@jdizzle120100 You should really study more instead of what they are trying feed you. The CSA were first to make drafts of free slaves, the union copied it. All the disinformation and likes got really poured good into the historical books while in fact they were the same as all those countries you want to be let free like today's Tibet or all those old colonies in the past.
The victor (re)writes history, the victors blindfold the future offspring, the documents always last.

@jasonwill2 yeh that and racism, its kind of strange the states in the CSA were notoriously racist and known for there slaves.
-
The northern empire invaded America because they couldn't help but impose themselves on the people of the South.

@thecody1100 The war no, at least up to the Emancipation Proclamation. The Confederacy itself was founded on the principal that slavery was a moral good, and a right of the state practicing it. Lincoln's Proclamation changed the focus to slavery for the purpose of keeping Europe from entering the war on the side of the south.

@thecody1100 When one does the research, most of the written documents from A Stephens "Cornerstone Speech" to the various state Articles of Secession, give slavery as the main cause for leaving the Union and creating the Confederacy. Its all there in black and white by the Confederates themselves in their own words. The slave holder planter class feared a GOP take over of the Federal government. Which is why they made sure Lincoln won in 1860, giving them the excuse to leave.

@jdizzle120100 your retarded the war wasnt mainly about slavery.... stop listening to the shit taught in school and do your research

What the fuck are you going on about? No swastikas or that nonsense here. I think you are confused with the actual racists. Stop assuming things before talking to people like a bible thumper.
Sorry if i am being rude about this, I had a near-death experience a couple of weeks ago and NOT in a good mood for bullshit on my videos.

@jasonwill2 IF STOP KISSING YOU FOR A MINUTE AND WAKE UP THAT FLAG IS RACIST
northmemphis48 8 months ago
@northmemphis48
You do realize that flag is no more racist than the American Union flag don't you? The North had slaves states before and after the war, and was racist as well as history has shown by events preceding and following the American Civil War. or a good while ONE MILLION blacks remained slaves after the war.
Really, just because of the South having slaves does not mean their flag stood for racism. If so then the American flag at the time stood for it as well by that reasoning.

heritage of slavery.

@jdizzle120100
Err, no. Just no. Heritage of American ideals and way of life: consent of the governed, democracy, social contract theory to name a few. The south felt the federal government was becoming too powerful and they went to these ideals, to an extreme that actually hampered how well the CSA government ran. It was so democratic that it actually harmed the efficiency of the bureaucracy. But those ideals, that is the heart of the Southern heritage. That, guns, and iconic images.
